Lung Ultrasound Score Progress in Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome

چکیده
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: The utility of a lung ultrasound score (LUS) has been described in the early phases neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). We investigated as tool to monitor status preterm neonates throughout course RDS. METHODS: Preterm neonates, stratified 3 gestational age cohorts (25–27, 28–30, and 31–33 weeks), underwent at weekly intervals from birth. Clinical data, support variables, major complications (sepsis, patent ductus arteriosus, pneumothorax, persistent pulmonary hypertension neonate) were also recorded. RESULTS: enrolled 240 infants total. had significantly different LUS patterns. There was significant correlation between ratio oxygen saturation inspired admission, increasing with (b = ?0.002 [P < .001] 25–27 weeks; b ?0.006 28–30 ?0.012 weeks). Infants higher already birth (12 interquartile range 13–8 vs 8 12–4 control group; P .001). In 25 30 weeks’ gestation, 7 days life predicted bronchopulmonary dysplasia an area under curve 0.82 (95% confidence interval 0.71 93). CONCLUSIONS: affected by RDS, trajectory is dependent, correlates oxygenation status, predicts dysplasia. this population, useful, bedside, noninvasive status.

Lung Ultrasound (LUS) and neonatal respiratory distress
Introduction Neonatal lung diseases are often a diagnostic dilemma for the clinician due to the low sensitivity and specificity of clinical signs and symptoms. In the last decade of the previous century the use of ultrasound in the diagnostic work-up of adult respiratory diseases became widely used [1,2]. The purpose of this paper is to update the knowledges on LUS in the most common neonatal r...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Neonatal Transient Tachypnea and Its Differentiation From Respiratory Distress Syndrome Using Lung Ultrasound
Transient tachypnea of the newborn (TTN) is one of the most common causes of perinatal dyspnea and is traditionally diagnosed by chest x-ray. This study aimed to explore the diagnostic value of lung ultrasonography (LUS) for TTN as well as differentiate it from respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) by using LUS. From January 2013 to February 2014, 60 infants who were diagnosed with TTN based on m...
متن کاملtrigger ventilation in neonatal respiratory distress syndrome
Experience of using an SLE 2000 neonatal trigger ventilator as the sole means of ventilation in 68 infants with respiratory distress syndrome was reviewed. No death or complication was seen in 22 infants with a birth weight above 1500 g. Forty five infants under 1500 g birth weight including 18 infants between 23 and 28 weeks' gestation were trigger ventilated throughout. Six infants died, four...
متن کاملValidity of Spo2/Fio2 Ratio in Detection of Acute Lung Injury and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
Introduction: One ofdiagnostic criteria for Acute Lung Injury and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome is pao2/fio2 (PF) ratio 300 for ALI or 200 for ARDS. This criteria requires invasive arterial sampling. Measurement of Spo2/Fio2 (SF) ratio by pulseoximetry may be a reliable non invasive alternative to the PF ratio. Methods and Materials: In a cross sectional study we enrolled 105 sample o...
